Battle of Sudoku: A Multiplayer Sudoku Showdown!

Do you love Sudoku and crave a competitive edge? Battle of Sudoku lets you pit your skills against other players or teams in a thrilling multiplayer experience. The goal remains the same: fill a 9x9 grid with digits so that each column, row, and 3x3 subgrid contains all digits from 1 to 9.

Before diving in, customize the difficulty (1-6, with 1 being easiest and 6 hardest) in the game options. This sets the initial numbers, providing a shared starting point for all players. Everyone receives the identical puzzle.

Game Modes:

Choose your strategy in the game options: "Show the correct numbers of your opponent." Enabling this displays every correctly placed number on everyone's screen. Each correct number earns points, but you can't claim points for a number already placed by another player – speed and accuracy are key! Disabling this option keeps correct numbers hidden, allowing players to potentially earn points with the same numbers.

Time-Outs and Scoring:

Incorrect entries result in a time-out (configurable, defaulting to 30 seconds), preventing further actions while others continue. Correct numbers earn points based on difficulty level – harder puzzles yield higher point rewards. Incorrect numbers cost you half the points you would have gained.

Winning the Game:

The game ends when the puzzle is solved. The player with the highest score wins. If "Show the correct numbers of your opponent" is disabled, the game ends when one player solves it, though this doesn't grant extra points; others can still win by making fewer mistakes.

Team vs. Individual Play:

Team play allows two teams to compete. Upon joining, select your team (1 or 2). At least two players per team are required. Points are added to the team's total score, and notes/filled colors are shared among teammates, enabling collaborative strategies.

Solving Tools:

A toolbar under the puzzle offers helpful tools:

• Pen Tool: Add notes to empty squares. Clicking a square with a number already noted removes it.
• Fill Mode: Change the background color of any square (including solved ones).
