Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced
Microsoft has revealed the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct, set for January 23rd, 2025. This marks the third annual installment of the event and the first Xbox game showcase of the new year. The event will be broadcast on YouTube and Twitch.
The first Xbox Developer Direct debuted in January 2023, followed by a second in January 2024. Maintaining this January tradition, the 2025 event is scheduled for 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT. This announcement follows earlier rumors circulating on January 9th.

Microsoft has confirmed three titles for the showcase. South of Midnight, a stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (creators of Contrast and We Happy Few), originally announced in June 2023, may finally receive a release date. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, a turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, targeting a 2025 release, is confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title. Finally, Doom: The Dark Ages from id Software, announced in June 2024 and playable at QuakeCon 2024, is rumored for a mid-2025 launch.
While these three titles are confirmed, previous Developer Directs (lasting over 40 minutes each) showcased multiple games. The 2024 event featured Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Expect the 2025 event to similarly include additional unannounced surprises.
