NieR: Automata offers a diverse arsenal, from quirky choices like the Iron Pipe to heavy hitters such as the Type-40 Blade. Many weapons are unique to the game, but one stands out for fans of Square Enix titles: Noctis's Engine Blade from Final Fantasy XV. This guide details its location and key stats.

Where To Find The Engine Blade In NieR: Automata

The Engine Blade is located within the factory area, but not accessible during the game's opening sequence. You'll need to progress the story until you regain control of 2B. Alternatively, utilize Chapter Select and jump directly to Chapter 9 for quicker access. Begin at the Factory: Hanger access point.

Exiting the access point, veer right, following the path with a 2D camera perspective. You'll pass a fenced area before ascending broken stairs and boarding a conveyor belt with crates. The subsequent conveyor belt features dangerous presses; carefully navigate to reach the next cylindrical area, where spider-like enemies await.

Enter the door to your left, climbing more stairs while dodging exploding enemies. Midway, the railing ends, and the platform extends towards the camera. Proceed to trigger a 2D platforming section, traversing atop the presses to the left. The final room contains three chests; the Engine Blade resides in the leftmost chest.

Note: Additional exploding enemies will descend from the ceiling as you approach the chest.

Engine Blade Stats In NieR: Automata

  • Attack Power: 160-200
  • Combo: Light 5, Heavy 3

This weapon boasts four upgrade levels, culminating in a 7-hit light combo. However, acquiring the Masamune is necessary for these upgrades. Unlike the erratic damage of the Iron Pipe, the Engine Blade provides more consistent damage output.
